Hello, everyone! I’m Denise — a military wife, mom, freelance editor, and self-diagnosed book hoarder.
I currently live in Virginia with my husband and two children. I am obsessed with historical fiction, fantasy, dystopian, mystery, romance... ok, never mind. I love it all. I spend my downtime reading (Yes, I still read for pleasure despite reading for a career), cooking, doing yoga, knitting, painting, and playing D&D.
I hold a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University in English Education with concentrations in language, literature, creative writing, and pedagogy. I have a Certificate in Editing and a Language Primer Certificate from the Poynter Institute, and have completed several graduate-level courses within the Editing & Publishing Certification program at the University of California, LA. In addition to my degree, and certificates, I have completed extensive member-only professional development training through the Poynter Institute in association with ACES: The Society of Editing.
